I was getting the following error while installing Pebble SDK.
brew linkstep did not complete successfully
The formula built, but is not symlinked into /usr/local
Could not symlink lib/libpng.a
/usr/local/lib is not writable.
You can try again using:
brew link libpng
The error doesn’t seem to be package specific but here’s the fix. The problem is that the directory Homebrew is trying to use isn’t writable by the user running brew. To fix this, make the directory writable by that user.
sudo chown -R yourusename:admin /usr/local/bin
